Enital hygiene our tips… see more

The genital area, including the surrounding skin is very delicate and can easily be damaged. There are a number of ways to protect and look after your genital skin – find out more below.
Proper Genital Care Guidelines:
Wash underwear with care:
It’s preferable to use non-biological washing powder or liquid to wash your underwear, as it is gentler on the skin.
Use plain water or an emollient to wash your genital area.
While plain water is sufficient, we recommend using an emollient such as aqueous cream, Diprobase, or Doublebase. These are available at pharmacies, supermarkets, and online, and they are very cost-effective.
How to use emollients during your bath or shower:
You can apply the emollient like a cream to your genital skin before entering the bath or shower. This creates a barrier against soaps or shampoos that may irritate the skin. Make sure to rinse the area thoroughly when you finish washing.
Daily use:
Emollients are safe for everyday use. If you have dry genital skin, consider applying some before bed each night.
Allow your genital skin to breathe:
During winter, we often wear many layers of clothing, preventing the genital area from getting a chance to “breathe.” In the summer, the heat and sweat can make the area uncomfortable. Whenever possible, like when you’re home in the evening watching TV or sleeping, try to go without underwear. A loose-fitting pair of pyjama bottoms is a good choice as it offers modesty while allowing airflow.
Choose the right underwear:
Opt for cotton underwear (or those with a cotton gusset). Cotton allows your skin to breathe, while synthetic fabrics can trap heat and cause irritation.
